SUMMARY:London Loft - VRay L.1
DESCRIPTION:  \nLondon Loft – Vray Level 1\nLondon Loft – Vray for Rhino is a 1 weekend rendering course of a basic interior-studio set up scene. This 16-hour course is designed for everyone who is interested in gaining basic visualization skills\, resulting in a professional level photorealistic interior scene. During the workshop you will follow a linear process from understanding image composition and colour theory\, to creating and controlling studio lighting set-ups and reproducing basic physical accurate materials. Workshop will conclude with post-production techniques and tricks in Photoshop. Information will flow in an accelerated pace. \n  \n \n  \nStructure\n  \nIn this training course (London Loft – VRay L.1) you will learn to create photorealistic interior visualizations\, using the\nV-ray 3.4 for Rhino render engine. This fast moving class covers most of V-ray’s functionality\, regarding interior scene setup. You will systematically move through\, the Rhino/V-ray interface\, understand different V-ray light types\, create an array of physical accurate materials in V-ray\, get familiar with image quality parameters\, thus acquiring concrete knowledge for coping with any interior visualization\, regardless complexity of the scene. The duration of the course is 16 hours. The course in intensive and spans 2 consecutive days (10:00 to 18:00) \n  \nIn this class\, you will systematically move through the user interface\, V-ray physical camera settings\, the concepts of global and indirect illumination\, image sampling algorithms\, frame buffer channels\, material creation and raw image results. \n  \nExpected Outcomes \n  \nAfter this course (London Loft – VRay L.1) the student is expected to be able to: \n\nMove comfortably around the V-ray for Rhino menus.\nUnderstand different V-ray light types and scene-lighting techniques.\nCreate your very own custom materials from scratch.\nUnderstand sampling quality concepts and efficiently alternate between different setups.\nProduce raw image files and utilize VFB channels.\nBring “to life” your images through basic post-production steps in Photoshop.\n\n  \n  \nCurriculum \n  \nAt decode™ we believe effective training needs a real-life project setting instead of generic exercises. All V-ray Level 1 material will be taught by getting the London Loft studio scene ready for final render. In this way each student will be guided through the experience of completing a challenging and interesting visualization project\, building up knowledge and confidence for dealing with various scene setups\, just like a professional would. Through the London Loft rendering steps the following concepts will be covered: \n  \n\nGet acquainted with the Rhino viewports.\nNavigate around model space.\nRhino layering system for rendering purposes.\nV-ray camera set-up.\nGlobal Illumination(GI) lighting.\nLighting the scene with V-ray lights.\nMaterial creation-material layers\nIndirect illumination-Primary/Secondary bounces calculation algorithms\nV-ray frame buffer(VFB) channels\nPhotoshop layers composition and post production techniques.\n\n  \nV-ray Option Editor \n \n\nGlobal Switches\nGlossy Effects\nMaterials Override\nV-ray physical camera: shutter speed\, aperture\, film ISO\, white balance\nEnvironment lighting set-up: GI(skylight)\, Reflection/Refraction(background)\nAntialiasing filters: Area\, Lanczos\, Catmull-Rom\nDMC sampler: Noise treshold\, Min. samples\, Global subdivisions multiplier\nColor mapping: Linear multiply\, Reinhard\nVFB channels: RGB\, Alpha\, RenderID\, Zdepth\, Raw reflection\nOutput: Image aspect ratio\, get view aspect\nIndirect Illumination(GI): Irradiance map\, Light cache\, Brute force\nAmbient occlusion\n\n  \nV-ray Lights \n \n\nV-ray sunlight system\nRectangular lights\nDome lights\nIES lights\n\n  \nMaterial Creation & Texture mapping \n \n\nCreate standard material\nDiffuse color/map slot\nTransparency\nReflection: Color/TexFresnel\, Glossiness\nRefraction: IOR\, Glossiness\nEmmisive materials\nApply materials to geometry\nTexture mapping: box mapping\, surface mapping\, cylindrical mapping\, spherical mapping\nMatch mapping\n\n  \n \n  \nTarget Audience \nThis course is for architects\, interior and industrial designers and of course design enthusiasts  who want to efficiently learn the concepts and features of the V-ray for Rhino render engine at an accelerated pace in an instructor-led environment. \n  \nPre-requisites \nRequires Windows skills and desire to produce stunning visuals. Previous experience with Rhinoceros interface helpful but not required. If trainees have attempted to work through tutorials on either evaluation\, student or commercial version of V-ray for Rhino\, this will help.)
